I will be a part of consensus too. I can put down my thoughts.
December:
Advantages: 1.weather2.mostly no power problems
Disadvantages:1.2 week short stay and most of them want to have more time especially after going on such a long trip back home and can't stay longer as kids need to be back to school. Spending about $ 10 k just on flight tickets and kids can't spend time with grand parents, and will be rushing on them.2.In that 2 weeks ( chirstmas/new year ) most of them want to spend time with their families and those few days we want to have for us mostly the venues will be booked up or difficult to have long time just for us in those venues.
July-Aug:Advantages:1. Families have about 2 months of vacation and can spend time with their families and also will be able to spend time among us.2. Venues will be available at multiple places, multiple options and different time periods and we are not time constrained to get it done in those 2 weeks only ( as we can pick from a 8 week choice and people can have multiple start and return dates not necessarily need to start on Dec22 nd and return back on Jan 5th).3. Once we meet each other at the reunion, some of us want to meet individually with others at home/work etc and can accomplish other business.
Disadvantages:1. Hot weather2. Power cuts i know its difficult with weather and power
problems but having the luxury of time to do other things ( like going on a tour etc ) i prefer summer holidays than winter 2 weeks vacation. Dinesh

Also i forgot about the flight cancellations in the winter due to severe inclement weather, chances are we might miss the connecting flights too and it will be a chain reaction to a point you have to cancel the trip all together.
Yes thats true, Dinesh...besides we have longer days in summer
